It has been 12 years since I have traveled to Mexico, so I jumped at the opportunity to visit Riviera Nayarit and stay at the Marival Resort for 3 nights of sun, sand and luxury.
Marival Residences Luxury Resort offers an all inclusive experience on this gorgeous property perfect for relaxing, dining and a spa experience.
While I enjoyed the property with several other solo travelers making it into Girls Getaway Weekend, the property has several services focused on family programs including nanny service and also couples getaways with romantic in room gourmet dinners and wedding packages.
The Location
Marival Residences Luxury Resort is located in Riviera Nayarit just a short distance from the Puerto Vallarta airport. A quick transfer and I arrived at the property. While here, you will likely not want to leave the property, but the other towns in the area including San Francisco and Sayulita are great for exploring.
The Luxury Residences is also next to their sister property, Marival Resort & Suites. A short escorted golf cart ride and you will have access to their VIP Full Service Beach Club and nighttime entertainment shows.
Property Highlights
This property is perfect for a girls getaway. The white building is wrapped around stunning blue pools with everything could want just a phone call away with 24/7 service. We enjoyed tanning & swimming in the pools and beach club, dining and wine tasting in the gourmet dining restaurants, smores & drinks by the bonfire in the public spaces and karaoke and cocktails on one of the nights in the spacious rooms.
The highlight of the property is really the exclusive feel and inclusive amenities. Dining, unlimited golf green fees and one tour are included to fill up your day with activities. Tours available include Catamaran Sailing, Sea Lions, Zip Lining, Pub Crawls and City Tours.
The Spa
And if that was not enough, there is the Melange World Spa. The unique treatment rooms are all inspired from around the globe from countries. Take your pick from the different spa experiences: Mexico Agave, Japan Shiatsu, Turkey Hamam, Russian Banya, Bali Aromatherapy, India Shirodhara, Thailand Body work, Italy Vendimia Wine, and American.
My experience was the India Shirodhara on an authentic Ayurvedic table that included hot oil dripping from a brass urn on my forehead dissipating all my worries. A truly international experience.
The Rooms
The rooms at Marival Residences Luxury Resorts are all luxury ranging from 1-4 bedroom (1,400 to 3,940 sq foot rooms).
My 2-room suite had a gorgeous balcony with ocean views. The entire suite focuses on the sweeping views from the living room, bedroom and even the deep tubs. The room has a full kitchen and in-room meal preparation can be arranged.
The suite setup gave plenty of options for private areas in the bedrooms and to invite friends over for gathering and dining in the living room and balconies.
Other suites at the resort have Demi-Pools in the garden patio or “Top of the World” pools for a secluded midnight swim.
The Dining
With several gourmet restaurants on the property, you will have your choices of dining experiences.
Insu – This restaurant was my favorite. Located on one of the top floors, the views are amazing as well as the food which is internationally themed. We enjoyed a tasting menu inspired by regions from around the world.
Ommagio – Our breakfast pick to start of the day. All the fresh fruit, juices, and breakfast items you can imagine. My pick was the crab eggs benedict.
Lemmon Grass – This restaurant offers poolside dining after your afternoon swims. You can get your fill of shrimp, calamari, tuna and of course… guacamole while in Mexico.
Brunello Wine Bar – The property also has an extensive wine bar where you can experience wine tasting experience with Mexican wines produced in Casa Madero Cellars. Considered the oldest in America, Casa Madero is a five century old winery located in the south region of Coahuila, a state north of Mexico. This renowned house is situated in the fertile Valley of Parras, home to the first wine cellar in America and vineyards since 1597.

Casa Grande Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2011
Slow-cooked duck “sope” (fried corn dough) with avocado sauce
Casa Bella also provides buffet meals for a more casual experience and a wide variety of foods.
The Entertainment
The relaxed atmosphere of the Marival Luxury Residences was perfect for relaxation and quiet nights around the bonfire, but there are also other entertainment options at the sister property Marival Resort & Suites. We had a chance to catch the Mexican night shows including traditional mariachi singers and dancers.
In the Area
We had a chance to see both the towns of Sayulita and San Francisco and take a boat tour with Punta Mita Expeditions to see more of this beautiful region of Mexico.
